FORENSIC MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENTS

Comprehensive assessments and medico legal reports are provided for clients with criminal law, family law or immigration matters. We specialise in the following matters:

Urgent court reports requested within 7 days can be arranged, subject to availability. Please note there is an additional fee involved for urgent reports of 10%.

FAQ


How long will the assessment take?


For general forensic psychological reports, assessment can between 2 to 3 hours and further appointments may be required depending on the matter. The timeframe for child and family assessments vary on the matter.


What is required of me during an assessment?


You will be required to attend an interview (by Telehealth or in person) to answer questions about your personal background, the matter, and to complete mental health questionnaires. If you have difficulties with reading, writing or the English language, you will be offered support.


What if an interpreter is required?


You or your solicitor can make a booking for an interpreter using TIS: https://www.tisnational.gov.au/Help-using-TIS-National-services/Contact-TIS-National.aspx


How do I pay for the report?


Payment for your report is made prior to the assessment by EFTPOS, cash, or bank transfer. Please note that reports are released after full payment has been received. 


Fees

Fees  vary for medico legal reports depending on the time required and the nature of the matter. Indicative fees are as per 

the below:

  • Section 14 Assessments  from $2600 + GST
  • Risk Assessments        from $3500 + GST
  • General Mental Health Assessments (incl Immigration Matters)                from $3500 + GST
  • Sentencing Reports     from $3500 + GST
  • Child Impact Reports (2 children + 2 adults)  from $6000 +GST
