SINGLE EXPERT REPORTS

Family Assessments

Sydney Clinical & Forensic Psychology provides independent, evidence-based family law assessments and medico-legal reports for matters before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Our experienced Clinical and Forensic Psychologists provide Family Law Single Expert Reports, Child Impact Reports, and Mental Health Assessments to assist the Court in determining arrangements that promote the best interests of children.

Single Expert Reports

Single Expert Reports involve interviews with family members, review of court documents and affidavits, psychometric testing, and collateral information where appropriate. These independent assessments assist the Court in understanding family dynamics, parenting capacity, risk factors, and the needs of children.

Child Impact Reports

Child Impact Reports involve interviews with parents and children to assist the Court in understanding the child's experiences, relationships, adjustment, and wellbeing.

Individual Mental Health and Risk Assessments

Mental Health and Risk Assessments provide an independent evaluation of a parent's psychological functioning, personality, mental health, and risk factors as they relate to family law proceedings.

Required Documentation

Please provide the following at least two weeks before the assessment:

  • Letter of Joint Instruction
  • Affidavits from each party
  • Most recent Court Orders
  • Relevant supporting documentation

Report Completion

Reports are typically finalised within 4–6 weeks following completion of all interviews and receipt of relevant documentation.
